order及其相同用法的几个词汇不管中考、高考年年考，重要程度不言而喻。
1. 表示“命令”“吩咐”，可用作动词或名词;特别注意的是相应的宾语从句、表语从句、同位语从句等用现在时虚拟语气，即无人称和时态的变化(should+v.)，在美国英语里should常常省略。具有这种语法特征的动词还有：decide决定、ask要求、insist坚持、demand要求、prefer宁愿、propose提议、recommend推荐、建议、require要求、reguest请求、suggesr建议；如：
He ordered that the goods should be sent by air.
他命令货物得空运。（宾语从句）
His order is that all the soldiers should start at once.
他的命令就是所有的士兵马上出发。（表语从句）
He gave orders that the work should be started immediately.
他发出命令那项工作立即开始启动。（同位语从句）
The emphloyees have demanded that manger (should) resign.
雇员们要求经理辞职。
2.order后接宾语从句时有时可以换成不定式或过去分词的复合结构。
order sb to do sth; order sb/sth (to be) done
如：
他命令这项工作必须立刻开始启动。
He ordered the work to be started at once.= He ordered the work started at once.= He ordered the work (should) be started at once.
老板吩咐这工作必须按时完成。
The boss ordered the work (to be) finished in time.
=The boss ordered that the work (should) be finished in time.
他下令关闭海滨浴场。
He ordered the beaches (to be)closed.= He ordered the beaches (should) be closed.
